Super Bowl Host Committee Hires Veteran Executive

An Indiana native who helped plan four Republican National Conventions will help coordinate plans for the 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis. The 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee has appointed Michelle Raines as vice president of event operations, IBJ reported. The full story is here.

There's been a lot of talk about the significance of the year 2012 and not just because Indianapolis is hosting the 2012 Super Bowl. Now buzz is growing around a new movie called 2012 from the director of Independence Day. Sony Pictures is spending $4 million to air a movie trailer simultaneously on more than 90 broadcast networks the evening of Oct. 1, giving it an audience larger than the Super Bowl. The movie hits theaters Nov. 13.
